| In no other religion is music so varied as in Christianity. We have attempted to give a sampling from most of the major languages including: Aramaic, Arabic, Hebrew, Latin, Old Slavonic, Russian, Corsican, Spanish, English, French and German. The pieces have been selected for variety, beauty and outstanding devotional quality. The first selection is an ancient chant from Corsica sung by Franciscans. The next sample is a song by the choir Taize, a French community. The third selection is from the great Vespers of 1610 by Claudio Monterverdi. | |
